How to move your videos from Doodstream, Streamtape or Filemoon to Dembed
Updated: November 6, 2026
Switching video hosts feels like a chore when you have dozens or hundreds of videos spread across your site, your blog or your groups. With a bit of order it takes an afternoon. This guide works for Doodstream, Streamtape, Filemoon, VOE, Mixdrop or any similar service.
Before you start: take stock
- List your videos and where each one is published (which pages, which groups). A spreadsheet with “title – old link – where it is” is enough.
- Start with your most-viewed videos: they’re the ones that will earn the most on Dembed.
- Look for your original files on your computer or drive: they’re usually better quality than what you can download from the old service.
Step by step
- 1Create your free Dembed account and confirm your email.
- 2Get the files: use your originals or download them from your account on the old service, if it allows it.
- 3Check the format: if they’re MKV or MOV, convert them to MP4 (H.264 + AAC) so they play with sound in every browser.
- 4Upload several at once: drag them into the dashboard. Each file can be up to 5 GB (50 GB with Premium) and uploads resume if your connection drops.
- 5Organize them in folders, like you had on the previous service.
- 6Customize the player once (color, logo, subtitles): it applies to every video.
- 7Swap the links and iframes on your site and in your groups, starting with the pages that get the most visits.
Swapping the iframe on your site
On each page, replace the old code with Dembed’s. Copy it from the video’s “Embed” button or build a custom one with the embed code generator.
<iframe src="https://dembed.cc/embed/v_YOUR_ID" title="My video" style="width:100%;aspect-ratio:16/9;border:0" allow="autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen loading="lazy"></iframe>What happens to old links
Dembed can’t redirect another service’s links: they’ll keep working as long as the old service keeps them. That’s why it’s worth updating them on your pages and pinning a message with the new links in your groups.
If you run your own site, the easiest way is to search your CMS for the old domain (for example, in WordPress with a search-and-replace plugin) and swap the iframes one by one with their new ID.
Check the rules before uploading
Dembed doesn’t allow content that infringes copyright or sexually explicit content, and every video has a report button. If your library includes material that isn’t yours or that you don’t have the right to share, don’t upload it: it will be blocked and can cost you your account.
Frequently asked questions
No. Dembed uploads files from your device, so you need the video first.
