How to upload videos from your phone without losing quality
Updated: November 5, 2026
You record a beautiful video on your phone, send it on WhatsApp or post it on social media… and it arrives blurry. It’s not your camera: those apps re-compress videos to save data. If you want to share it exactly as recorded, upload the original file and send a link. Here’s how to do it from the phone itself.
Why videos lose quality when shared
- WhatsApp, Telegram (in quick mode) and many social apps reduce the resolution and bitrate of videos.
- Some limit length or size and trim or reject large files.
- Every time someone forwards the video, it’s compressed again and gets worse.
Step by step from your phone
- 1Open dembed.cc in your phone’s browser and sign in (or create your free account and confirm your email).
- 2Tap “Upload” and pick the video from your gallery. You can upload several at once.
- 3Keep the screen on and the browser in the foreground until it finishes: some phones pause uploads in the background.
- 4Use Wi-Fi if the video is large, to save your mobile data.
- 5When it’s ready, tap the video and copy the link to send it on WhatsApp, Telegram or anywhere.
What the person receiving the link gets
- They watch the video at its original quality, without messaging app compression.
- The player adapts to their connection and they can watch fullscreen.
- If you enable downloads, they can get the original file.
- The link shows the thumbnail and title as a preview.
Tips to record better
- Record at 1080p 30 fps: it’s the best balance of quality and size for sharing.
- Clean the lens before recording: it’s the most underrated trick.
- On iPhone, if your videos don’t play on some devices, choose Settings → Camera → Formats → “Most Compatible”.
