How to see how many views your video has and which countries they come from

Knowing how many people watch your videos, and from where, helps you decide what to publish, in which language and where to share it. Dembed gives you several different numbers and it’s worth not mixing them up. Here’s what each one means and where to find it.
Plays and monetized views aren’t the same
- Play: someone pressed play. One per person and video every 30 minutes; bots and your own plays don’t count.
- Monetized view: a real play of at least 60 seconds, without an ad blocker, once per person and video every 24 hours. This is what earns money.
- Download: someone downloaded the file from the public page (if downloads are enabled).
Where to find each number in the dashboard
- Overview: daily plays and downloads for the last 7, 30 or 90 days, the comparison with the previous period and your top videos.
- Each video’s details: its plays, downloads and download rate.
- Monetization: daily monetized views and, for the current month, the per-country breakdown with an estimate of what each is worth.
How to use the per-country data
- If a big part of your audience comes from high-RPM countries, add subtitles in their language.
- If almost all of it is from one country, publish when that audience is awake.
- Compare months: if a country grows, double down on the channels it comes from (a group, a site, a network).
- Keep in mind the per-country breakdown is of monetized views, the ones that count for your earnings.
If you embed videos on your site
Plays from your site are counted in your dashboard too. If you also want to know which pages on your site draw the most visits, use your own site analytics (Google Analytics, for example) alongside Dembed’s stats.
