Why do I see ads with Premium? How to fix it on embedded videos
Updated: November 6, 2026
On dembed.cc you don’t see ads with Premium, but on a blog or website that embeds a Dembed video you sometimes do. It isn’t a problem with your subscription: it’s your browser protecting your privacy. Here’s what’s going on and how to stop seeing ads in two minutes.
What’s happening
Dembed knows you have Premium through a cookie saved when you visit dembed.cc signed in. When the player sits inside another website (in an iframe), your browser treats that cookie as a “third-party cookie”: it belongs to a different site from the one you’re visiting.
Many browsers block third-party cookies so ad companies can’t follow you from site to site. It’s a good measure, but it blocks Dembed’s cookie too. Without it, the player can’t tell you’re Premium and treats you like a free viewer.
Which browsers block them
- Safari (iPhone, iPad and Mac): always blocks them with “Prevent Cross-Site Tracking”, and doesn’t allow per-site exceptions.
- Firefox: its tracking protection keeps each website’s cookies separate, so the embedded player doesn’t see yours.
- Brave: Shields blocks cross-site cookies by default.
- Chrome and Edge: depends on your settings; in incognito mode they always block them.
How to fix it
If you’re Premium and see an ad in an embedded player, tap “Have Premium?” in the ad bar: it opens the tutorial with the steps for your browser. You’ll also find it in your dashboard, under Premium.
- 1Sign in to dembed.cc in the same browser, and visit at least once every 3 days so the Premium cookie doesn’t expire.
- 2Allow dembed.cc cookies on other websites. In Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies → “Allowed to use third-party cookies” → Add → [*.]dembed.cc. In Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies → Allow → Add, ticking “Include third-party cookies on this site”. In Firefox: on the website with the video, click the shield next to the address and turn protection off for that site. In Brave: click the lion (Shields) and allow cookies on that site.
- 3Reload the video page: the player will recognise your Premium.
The easiest fix in Safari
Since Safari doesn’t allow exceptions, the only way to get the cookie on other websites is to turn off “Prevent Cross-Site Tracking” for all of them. If you’d rather not, open the video directly on dembed.cc: Premium always works there, with no changes.
What Premium removes and what it doesn’t
- Premium only removes ads for the person who pays for it, while they watch videos.
- If you upload videos with Premium, your viewers without Premium still see ads.
- Plays by Premium subscribers aren’t monetized views: they don’t see ads, so they don’t earn money for the video’s creator.
Frequently asked questions
No. Premium is active on your account; the issue is that your browser doesn’t send the cookie to the embedded player. On dembed.cc you won’t see ads.
